All of us at Sunrise Orthodontics love being a part of the communities of Rancho Cordova, Elk Grove, and Placerville. We are very involved in our communities and offer a completely free mouthguard program for local youth sports. We sponsor many community-involved events, which helps us get to know neighbors in our community and their needs even better. We enjoy each community when we are working and when we step outside our offices. We get to meet so many great people and get to know them and their families. We interact with people in our offices and then enjoy bumping into them on the street. We are really excited about the community support and small-town atmosphere that surround our locations. We want to extend that same community support to you.
Our orthodontic practice is staffed by a team that is not only professional and well-trained but also friendly and welcoming to our diverse clientele. We try to put people at ease as soon as you come in. Our staff works hard to create a family-centered atmosphere, kid- and adult-friendly, and fun.
Our staff likes to have FUN and love to make sure our patients have fun as well. We love interacting with our patients and always have some type of contest giveaway each month that rewards our patients in some fun fashion.
We have a photo booth and video games in our lobby when patients are waiting, as well as a prize wheel and candy wall with delicious treats. If our patients like to be goofy, we like to be goofy. If they are shy, we will accommodate their needs. All our patients are unique individuals, and thats how we treat them.
At Sunrise Orthodontics, we believe that everyone deserves to love the smile you see in the mirror. The perfect smile can open up doors for you, and you will look and feel better about yourself everywhere you go.
We strive to be an orthodontic practice that is inclusive to everyone, and that means making our services affordable to everyone. We understand that orthodontic treatment is a big financial investment in our patients oral health, so we take every measure possible to make it affordable and practical to complete treatment. We offer in-house, zero-percent-interest financing and, in many cases, no large down payment to get started.
If you are worried about the cost of your orthodontic treatment, please contact us. We will sit down with you to see how we can best make your treatment plan affordable for you and your family. You deserve to be healthy from head to toe, and that includes your teeth!
While we have a lot of children as patients, we also work with many adults at Sunrise Orthodontics. We want everyone children, teens, and adults to keep the teeth they have for as long as they can and to love their smile. Although the braces journey is not always fun, we can really make it a positive experience for everyone along the way. With the current innovations in the dental and orthodontic fields, adults can take advantage of new materials and treatments that may not have been available before now. Adults can look forward to achieving the perfect smile in a streamlined time frame. We can help you find the least disruptive treatment plan for your lifestyle. Even if this is your first experience with an orthodontist, we can help you correct orthodontic issues that may have been causing you distress for a long period of time. We encourage adults to contact us to discover how our orthodontic treatment can change the quality of your life.

Dr. Sanders has five children, four of whom have gone through orthodontic treatment. He can truly relate well to parents and what they experience during their son or daughters treatment. Dr. Sanders and Dr. Kim will never recommend treatment they wouldnt provide to their own families.
I feel blessed to be a part of such a rewarding profession. It is my goal to make a difference in my patients lives through thoughtful treatment plans that maximize smiles. Seeing the transformations my patients go through is one of the most fulfilling parts of my career. My team and I work very hard to achieve beautiful smiles, build self-esteem and exceed patients expectations.
I was born and raised in Humboldt County, California. After completing my undergraduate studies at La Sierra University in Riverside, I went on to receive my Doctorate of Dental Surgery at Loma Linda University School of Dentistry. I earned my degree in orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics with honors and was inducted into the prestigious Omicron Kappa Upsilon Honor Society, which prides itself on academic excellence and character.
My life revolves around my family. We are always doing something active with our children: swimming and playing in the summer, and skiing at Sierra at Tahoe in the winter. I love my wife and family and feel like raising my children is my highest calling. Nothing is better than having fun with my kids!
I think it is extremely rewarding to be able to use my skills to help children in need and give back to my community. I have participated in the Smiles for Kids program since moving to the region in 2010. The program provides pro-bono orthodontic care to children whose families would not be able to receive care due to financial constraints.
I feel incredibly lucky to be able to help people obtain beautiful, healthy smiles. Seeing people of all ages gain confidence is such a rewarding experience, and I am blessed to be able to do what I love every single day.
I attended Andrews University for my Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. I then went on to receive my Doctorate of Dental Surgery at Loma Linda University School of Dentistry with honors in orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics and was inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Honor Society. Afterward, I stayed at LLUSD to obtain my masters degree and certificate in orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics. I am a member of the California Dental Association, American Association of Orthodontists, and a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics.
I grew up in a family of four and inherited a love of teeth from my dad, a family dentist in Athens, GA. My brother and I would often hang out at his dental office, and I watched my dad work with fascination. My mom loves to tell stories about finding me pretending to do dental work on my stuffed animals. This love of dentistry persisted as I got older, and Im happy to now be able to fulfill my childhood dreams every day.
When Im not working I love spending time in nature, especially if I can enjoy the outdoors with friends or family. Hiking, playing tennis, running, swimming, or hanging out in a hammock are all fair game, as well as skiing in the wintertime. Living in this area has been amazing for letting me indulge in all kinds of outdoor activities. On rainy days, I enjoy cooking, reading, playing my cello, journaling, and hanging out with friends.
