Dr. James W. Mellert is a South Bay native and USC dental graduate. In Torrance since 1982, his practice places special emphasis on aesthetic, periodontal and implant dentistry. Dr. Mellerts state-of-the-art new office features 3-D Galileo imaging for dental implant diagnosis and the newest generation of digital radiography.
My grandfather, Roy Mellert, DDS, and father, William Mellert, DDS, modeled a passion, commitment and caring for their patients throughout their long and successful careers. These traits are contagious, and I caught them at an early age.
Ive been doing connective tissue root coverage grafting for over 30 years. Ive recently added the Chao Pinhole gum grafting technique with amazing results. This grafting procedure provides less discomfort and downtime.

My name is Dr. Steven Brown and I am a practicing dentist in Torrance, CA. Over the last six years, I have developed a particular interest in sleep related breathing disorders and their management with dental appliances. I have taken extensive coursework through UCLA in 2010, 2011, and 2013, as well as coursework at USC in 2009. Ive also participated in seminars through the California Sleep Society and attended seminars and conferences through the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine, of which Ive been a member since 2011.
Dr. Jamie Mellert Houck is an enthusiastic, gentle, and passionate dentist who focuses on patient centered care. She earned her BA in Psychology from Point Loma Nazarene University and her DDS degree from the Herman Ostrow School of Dentistry of USC. Dr. Houck is proud to be a fourth generation USC dentist and is blessed to practice alongside her father, Dr. Mellert. She is gifted at providing dental care for children and is passionate about preventative and conservative dental treatment for patients of all ages.Dr. Houck is a top trained Invisalign doctor, serves on the Board of Directors on the American Academy of Clear Aligners (AACA), and is the President of an Invisalign Reingage Class.Straightening teeth through the use of clear aligners has allowed Dr. Houck to give patients life-changing confidence in their smile. Dr. Houck grew up in the South Bay and is grateful to practice in the same community where she was raised. In her spare time, she enjoys singing, playing the piano, and going on adventures with her daughter Jayden and her husband Tim.
